Julie Anne Smith, A.K.A. Julianne Moore is a Hollywood actor and writer whose talent has earned her recognition and critical acclaim. Sagittarius. The actress was born at the age of 3 in North Carolina December 3, 1960. She is the oldest out of three kids who were born to Peter Moore Smith (a paratrooper) and Anne Smith who was a psychologist. The Moore family has English and Scottish roots. Moore was often in and out of her family due to the job of her father. This was a challenge to make or maintain new friends. Moore started acting in play when she moved with her family to Germany. She furthered her education through Boston University, graduating in 1983 with a B.F.A. in Theater. Her career in theater began at New York with Off-Broadway Theater immediately following graduating. In 1985, she made her debut on screen in The Edge of Night. She played the dual role of Sabrina Hughes and Frannie Hughes in As the World Changes that was her first major role. She was on this show until 1988 and won an Daytime Emmy Award for her performance. In 1990, she made her debut as an actress in Tales from the Darkside: The Movie. Then, she called it an low-budget film. Short Cuts was produced by Robert Altman in 1993 and 3 Women was released in 1997. The former was critically acclaimed and earned her a number of nominations for the film. Moore got her first leading role in Safe (1995). In 1997, her career as an actress was at a crossroads after Steven Spielberg cast her to star in Jurassic Park: The Lost World that became one of 1997's highest-grossing movies. The actress received an SAG Awards nomination in Magnolia during 1999. The Hours was her co-starring role in 2002, and it received nine Academy Award nominations, including Nicole Kidman. Moore was also in The Forgotten (2003), Freedomland (2005), Shelter (2010) and many other films. In 2014, she starred in Non-Stop. Moore has appeared on countless films and television shows. Her most recent starring role was in the film When You Finish Saving the World (2022). Her career as an actress in Hollywood is well established and she is also a novelist for children that has been published. In 2007 she released Freckleface Strawberry and quickly became a N.Y.T. It became a top selling book, then adapted to a television series along with a musical. Her 2013 book, My Mom is a Foreigner, was also a bestseller. Moore's private life has been made public as a highly successful author and actress. She split from John Robin in 1995. She has two kids and a son with Bart Freundlich whom she later was married to in 2003. Moore's focus is on her family, friends as well as her career.
